Are you a Dubai tenant? Have you hated getting out that cheque book every time its time to renew? You will love this new update from The Dubai Land Department.
Introducing the Noqodi Direct Debit system (UAEDDS), which gives tenants an automated payment method for recurring rental payments, via direct debit. Ejari is fully integrated with the system which allows tenants and landlords to manage and arrange payment schedule when making a new contract or renewing an existing one. Rental terms can be broken down into 2, 4, 6 or 12 payments, which works out great for tenants, and landlords as well, since the whole process is entirely automated.
The move eliminates extra effort and manual administration processes required to manage post-dated cheques by landlords and property management companies. Likewise, most expats are accustomed to a direct debit system, and this new update will remove the struggles and hassles that come with writing and managing cheques and cheque books.
This is a great move of Dubai's part for efforts to make payments transparent, automated and digitised.
Could this be the beginning of the end of checkbooks?
